Lincoln’s Inn Fields was originally designed out by Inigo Jones in the 17th century, and is the largest public square in London. The square was opened to the public much later on, when it was bought by London County Council in 1895. Lincoln’s Inn Fields has many interesting buildings, including the Sir John Soane’s Museum and Royal College of Surgeons. There are tennis and netball courts within the central grassed area, and there is also a bandstand that is used for summer events.
