The London Zoological Society was founded in April 1826 by a collection of rich landowners and dignitaries who wanted to start to study the many types of animals that existed in the world. Probably the most famous action the society did was to but a part of Regent's Park and open the Zoological Gardens (London Zoo). However the society is open to the public opposite the zoo and has a large selection of exhibitions that relate to wildlife and conservation. Most exhibitions at the society are free of charge.
