Lord John Reith lived much of his adult life in this quiet street close to the seats of power of the United Kingdom. Reith established a tradition of public broadcasting at the beginning of the 20th Century that we now today take for granted. The first ever Director General of the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) Reith created a tradition in the broadcasting world that has been replicated by governments across the world for the last century. Firstly radio and then television were both innovated by this great man.
