Mary Shelley was a Londoner born and bred. She had the city in her blood and lived a great deal of her life in this luxurious town house in the quiet Chester Square in Knightsbridge. Shelley is of course one of Britain's most famous and celebrated authors, largely because of Frankenstein, one of the most frighteningly clever and well written of the Gothic Novels. Shelley did of course publish many other well known books throughout her life.
