The film location for Blow Up, Michelangelo Antonioni's cult 1960s film, Maryon Park has had an interesting past. Its highest point, Cox's Mount, which overlooks the River Thames, was used in the 1850s to adjust ships' compasses and, before that, it was a hill fort. Today the park offers wooded footpaths, a hard tennis court and a basketball court. Maryon Park used to be part of the estate of the Maryson Wilson family, Lords of the Manor of Charlton.
