Although only a few miles from the centre of London, the area of South Wimbledon and Merton has some interesting green areas. Apart from the numerous parks and gardens one of the most popular attractions is the river that runs through the area. It has a path down both banks for the majority of its path and is popular with walkers and runners as well as those who enjoy fishing.
