The Metropolitan Tabernacle is without a doubt the most impressive building in the Elephant & Castle area. The huge place of worship stands out against the mainly modern buildings of south central London, built in the mock heroic fashion. The church was once the place of preaching of CH Spurgeon, a famous Baptist minister. Today the facility is just as well used as ever.
