Mottingham War Memorial is a large monument situated in the middle of the road at one of the main road intersections in the south east London suburb. It captures the great debt of gratitude that the people of the borough owe to those brave men who marched off to war in the 20th Century, many never to return. They gave their lives to defend the basic rights and liberties that today we take for granted.
