One of the more modern theatres in London, the New London theatre was completed in January 1973. The building was designed by Paul Tvrtkovic is one of the most adaptable theatres in the capital. A third of the stalls can be revolved and the walls are movable, with the full capacity being around 1,100. The theatre was used as a television studio between 1977 and 1980, but is perhaps best known for its record breaking run of Cats, which ran for 21 years and 8,949 performances.
