New Scotland Yard is probably the most famous police station in the world and certainly the most famous in Britain. It serves as the headquarters of London's Metropolitan Police Service and is recognisable by its iconic triangular sign that revolves outside the from entrance of the building. The modern 'yard' takes its name from the location of the original building on Great Scotland Yard which is a small street close to Whitehall. The 'yard' is open to the public and has some interesting displays and exhibits with regard to London policing.
