The Odeon in Leicester Square is one of the most famous cinemas in the world, and it has the largest non-Imax screen in Europe. It also can claim to have had the first digital projector in Europe, which was installed in 2002. The cinema can hold over 2000 people and is used for the majority of major film premieres in London. The Odeon also contains four smaller screens in the part known as the Odeon Mezzanine. The Art Deco style building was opened in 1937, on the old site of the Alhambra Music Hall.
