The architect of the Houses of Parliament, Charles Barry, also built this old grammar school. Although Tudor in style, “The Grammar School of the College of God's Gift” was built during Victorian times in 1841 for the education of 60 boys. It was linked to Dulwich Old College next door. The field beside the school was its playing field. Both are still part of the famous Dulwich Estate, most of which is now a conservation area.
