Ormonde Gate Park is a large municipal green area at the heart of the residential area of Chelsea. It stands opposite the Royal Chelsea Hospital and therefore is a popular spot for the Chelsea Pensioners to take a stroll during the summer months. The park has a good selection of sporting facilities, tennis courts, football, rugby and cricket pitches. Much of the year the area is used by local people as a place of general recreation to get away from the busy streets of London.
