Percy Grainger was Australian by birth but lived a great deal of his adult life in this fine house on the corner of Sloane Square in the heart of London. He is recognised as one of the greatest Australasian composers and pianists ever to perform. Grainger enjoyed travelling and his work took him across the globe performing his famous works on almost every continent, especially America, a country with which he shared a great affinity.
