Designed by Inigo Jones, Queen’s Chapel was intended as a Catholic chapel for Infanta Maria of Spain, the expected bride of Charles 1. However, Charles 1 instead married Henrietta Maria and the Chapel was completed for this historic event which took place in the seventeenth century. The chapel was remodelled by Wren for Catherine of Braganza, Charles II's wife. The Queen’s Chapel is still in use today and was famously used during the Queen Mother's funeral in 2002.
