Opened in 1887, this lovely 30-acre park was originally home to Queen’s Park Rangers football club. The playground – a favourite with local families – is divided into two areas: for toddlers there’s a large sandpit with slides and playhouses, while the main play area contains a paddling pool and a wood-chip adventure section where bigger kids can clamber along high-quality climbing frames and whizz down an overhead steel pulley. Elsewhere there is a café, animal enclosure, tennis courts and a pitch and putt course. Hear local bands strike up an oomp-pa-pa in the pavilion.
