Like most of the W.G.R Sprague theatres, the Queen’s Theatre is one of a pair of theatres, the other part of this pair being what is now called the Gielgud Theatre. Originally opened in 1907, the front of the theatre was blown off during World War Two, and was restored and opened again in 1959. The building had been given a new façade and front, which was designed by Brian Westwood and Sir Hugh Casson. The theatre was restored again during 1992. Successful shows at the Queen’s Theatre include Otherwise Engaged, Passion and Hot Shoe Shuffle.
