The Regent's Canal was created to connect the London Docks with the Grand Union Canal that runs between Birmingham and London. The canal, although once a major industrial thoroughfare is now almost exclusively used for pleasure cruising on barges. There are several companies who offer tours from Camden and Paddington on the canal that give you a unique view of London, including floating through the middle of London Zoo in Regent's Park.
