Richard Arkwright's House

Richard Arkwright came up with some of his most notable inventions in the spare room of this house which he used as a workshop. Arkwright is credited with inventing the spinning frame, later renamed the water frame. Effectively what Arkwright did was help innovate the water powered milling systems that would become common place by the end of the 18th Century. He is generally considered to have been the driving force behind water power.
