This large heritage centre was established in the buildings of an old pumping station on the edge of the River Thames in order to offer an insight to the public into the fascinating history and ecology of the area. The heritage centre invites people to learn more about the importance of Rotherhithe as a community in the past and to look more closely at the wild life and plants that have been protected in the nature reserve.
