This statue near Brooke Street in High Holborn is a memorial to the Royal Fusiliers of the City of London who lost their lives in both the First and Second World Wars. The memorial is comprised of a bronze statue of a Royal Fusilier in full battle dress mounted on a Portland stone plinth. The Sculptor Albert Toft, who also designed the Welsh National Memorial in Cardiff and the South Africa Memorial in Cannon Hill Park, designed the statue.
