This historic city garden at the centre of affluent Bloomsbury was originally built in the nineteenth century based on designs by Humphrey Repton. The square was redeveloped as part of a millennium project but care was taken not to detract from the original design. The centrepiece of the square is the magnificent fountain. The land is owned by the Duke of Bedford’s estate and managed on their behalf by the London Borough of Camden. It is a popular retreat for locals and tourists alike.
