Until 20 years ago, Shad Thames was just another collection of worn out warehouses next to the River Thames. The developers moved in and converted the warehouses to apartments and offices and allowed the ground floor areas to flourish as shops, bars and restaurants. The result is a wonderfully vibrant series of shopping streets with some of the capitals best restaurants and most trendy bars in the shadow of Tower Bridge just south of the river.
