Charles Stanford was an Irish born composer who came to England to study music at Queen’s College Cambridge. He decided to stay in England and moved to London where he made a significant mark in the classical music scene and was quickly regarded as one of the great composers of the Victorian age. He enjoyed living the centre of the city and took great inspiration from its busy streets and energetic people.
