The Science and Society Picture Library carries one of the most extensive collections of photographic material anywhere in the United Kingdom. The collection is divided into several sections of interest, covering different areas of society and time periods. Some of the largest collections include the transport section with over 10,000 images, as well as the Manchester Daily Express Collection which houses more than 200,000 photographs spanning the 1970s and 1980s.
