Soho, once a royal park for the Palace of Whitehall, is often considered synonymous with the sex industry. From the mid 1800s prostitutes, music halls and small theatres flourished there. Soho today has clubs, pubs, bars and restaurants, with only a few sex shops in amongst them. At weekends many of Soho’s streets are closed to vehicles.
