London’s oldest Gothic Church building including historic links with Shakespeare and the Elizabethan Theatre and US University benefactor, John Harvard. The cathedral contains a wealth of interesting memorials. Visitors can view an archaeological chamber with remains of a roman road, foundations of the Anglo Saxon church and pottery kilns where Southwark Delftware was produced. An audio tour can be hired for a small fee. Groups are strongly recommended to book. Cathedral shop and restaurant.
