St. Barnabas is an Anglican Church serving the local community of Southfields in south London. Not much more than a hundred years ago the area of Southfields was open farmland where a few locals grew watercress. At the turn of the century London’s population exploded and thus the capital expanded swallowing up the countryside as it went. This church was built in 1906 to serve the many thousands of new residents who had made their home in the area but had nowhere to worship. It is still a popular and lively church at the centre of the community.
