St Ethelburga’s is one of London’s smallest churches, being only 56 feet long and 30 feet wide. Unfortunately, the church was almost completely destroyed by an IRA bomb in 1993, although it has since been rebuilt using many of the original materials. Before it was destroyed the church had stood since 1390. The parish is also known for being extremely small, and covered less than the area of the Bank of England. The church is now used as a ‘Centre for Reconciliation and Peace’, which helps to solve and understand conflicts within the world.
