Newberry and Fowler designed the great Roman Catholic Church of St. Francis of Assisi at the heart of West Wickham. It was decided that there was a need for an additional Catholic Church in the area between the wars and this structure was erected in 1936. The church is home to a large Christian congregation who meet on a regular basis on the site to share in worship and prayer.
