St. Luke's is grade II listed and was built by well known architect Francis Bedford in 1822. The church, which stands in a prominent position at the top of West Norwood was extensively remodelled in the 1870s and again a hundred years later in the 1970s. It is one of the largest and most impressive ecclesiastical structures in the area and is patronised by the Archbishop of Canterbury.
