This church marked a departure in style for Wren, with its very plain and simple design. The church is named after the local factory than produced pattens, which were objects that were used to raise your height a few inches by being placed under your shoes. They were extremely useful in medieval times, with the streets being so dirty with rubbish and waste. St Margaret’s is now the home of the Anglo-Filipino Charismatic Episcopal Church.
