St Mary is a beautiful parish church in the leafy borough of Barnes close to the River Thames. The wonderful building dates back to the thirteenth century and has served as a focal point of community life for eight hundred years. The building is surrounded by beautifully cultured gardens and just across the road from the churchyard is the well-preserved village centre known as Barnes Green. The congregation is friendly and welcomes newcomers.
