St Matthew’s at the Elephant is an Anglican church, and was rebuilt in 1993. As part of a multiracial community, the church acts as both a place of worship and a community centre, and encourages people of all races and faiths to take part in local activities. Events held at the church include music recitals, social groups and youth organisations. The minimalist iron spire and low main building represent a more modern and functional approach to church building.
