St Pancras was a medieval parish centered around Old St Pancras Church, which is believed to be one of the oldest churches in Great Britain. When the population moved to Kentish Town, where there was better drainage, the settlement was abandoned and the church fell into disrepair. The church’s graveyard has links to Charles Dickens and Thomas Hardy.
