This church was built by Wren, and is noted for its incredibly beautiful interior. The church was used by Wren as an experiment for his designs for St Paul’s Cathedral, and has the distinctive dome added to the traditional English church design. The church is also associated with the Samaritans, with the famous organisation being founded here in the 20th Century. The church is named ‘Wallbrook’ because it is situated near the Walbrook stream, which is not visible now, but still runs in underground pipes.
