Sylvia Plath like many other great authors and poets loved the area around Primrose Hill because of its pastoral feel yet proximity to the hustle and bustle of central London. She lived a great deal of her adult life in this colourful house and wrote dome of her most famous works looking out of the window onto Chalcot Square. An American by birth, Plath married the poet Ted Hughes after they met at Cambridge University. Her life ended tragically in suicide, but not after she created some of the most famous poems of the 20th Century.
