A truly historical church, the Temple Church was consecrated in 1185 by Heraclius. It was originally used by the Knights Templar, hence its circular design. The building has undergone many restorations, most notably by Christopher Wren in the late 1660’s, who installed an organ in the church for the first time. Today the Church is still in full use, and people still regularly get married there. Its popularity has greatly increased in recent years due to it being used in the book ‘The Da Vinci Code’ by Dan Brown.
