The Thames Barrier has been described as the eighth wonder of the world and is, without doubt, an exceptional work of engineering. Nearby is the Thames Barrier Information and Learning Centre which has an auditorium and two classrooms. In addition to games and learning activities, the Centre offers comprehensive information boards on the barrier and the River Thames, a working model of the Thames Barrier and a video on its construction.
