At the centre of Leicester Square, there is a small garden surrounded by railings. At each of the corners of this garden, there is an entrance with a statue. These four statues represent four of the most famous people who lived and work in the Leicester Square area. The four gates are William Hogarth gate, Sir Isaac Newton gate, Sir John Reynolds and the pictured John Hunter gate. The combination of a scientist, a painter, a writer and the first royal academy president sum up the importance and diversity of the history within Leicester Square.
