The Long Water
Kensington Gardens, Kensington, London SW8 - England, UK
  Share Location Map

The Long Water is as its name suggests, a long thin body of water that flows through Kensington Gardens into Hyde Park, where it becomes known as the Serpentine. The lake is one of the most visited central features of Kensington Gardens and is home to a fine collection of migrating birds and other water-based wildlife. The Long Water is separated from the Serpentine by a large stone bridge.

It's easy to wander around London and find one's self in another area of London without realising it. Myself and the boys were walking along Hyde Park and the Serpentine, went past the fast food van and across the bridge and continued walking.

We found that the minute we stepped over the bridge we were in Kensington Gardens and the Serpentine was no longer the Serpentine but the Long Water. A beautiful stretch of water.
