A lesser known museum, The Wallace Collection is situated a few minutes to the north of Oxford Street within close proximity to Bond Street and Baker Street tube stations. The collection of treasures comprises of paintings, furniture, porcelain and armoury which were bequeathed to the nation in 1897 by Lady Wallace, the widow of Sir Richard Wallace. The museum also hosts educational events for both adults and children, offers a gift shop and a superb restaurant/café in the Sculpture Garden which is situated in the enclosed central atrium.
