Thomas De Quincey was an English intellectual who chose to live at the heart of the capital close to many other great minds. He was a writer and a thinker and is most famous for the composition of his work 'Confessions of an Opium Eater' which he wrote in the study of this house. De Quincey is still celebrated by many in literary world for being a ground breaking thinker with uncompromising standards which often led him to controversy.
