This bandstand is used primarily in the summer months at which time the local authority distribute deck chairs and organise performances by a variety of different musicians. There are daytime performances at weekends and most summer evenings there is a performance of some time. The music played varies, but there is a great deal of jazz played as well as several regular performances by local brass bands and classical quartets.
