Wandsworth Common is a large green area at that sprawls across the vibrant South London borough of Wandsworth. The common has for centuries offered a place to relax, to play and to simply escape the hustle and bustle of city life. The 175-acre site has several quite distinct elements to it including cultured gardens and ecological conservation areas, sports pitches and wild wooded sections left to attract wildlife. It is thought that the parkland has existed in some form since the eleventh century, once making up the grounds of a grand manor house in Battersea.
