Originally named Bechstein Hall, Wigmore Hall as it is now called was designed by T. E. Collcutt, the designer of the Savoy Hotel on The Strand. Boasting excellent acoustics, the venue is considered to be a superb recital hall and hosts not only some of the best classical music in London, but also jazz and early music concerts, presenting over 400 events per year. Recent restoration and refurbishment has resulted in extra space, additional seats and air conditioning.
