William Roy’s House is situated just a few doors away from the world famous London Palladium Theatre. Roy is recognised as being one of the greatest surveyors of all time. Born in Scotland it was always his dream to fully survey the United Kingdom and produce a fully detailed map of the island. This he managed to do after establishing and running the Ordnance Survey, the organisation that still today governs mapping of the UK.
