Ancient Wimbledon Park has been a place for sporting activities for centuries since the first Earl Spencer opened it to the public in 1744. It wasn’t until the late nineteenth Century that the Wimbledon Park Sports Club, later to become the golf club, began promoting organised sport in the park. Wimbledon Park Golf Club has excellent facilities, a clubhouse bar and restaurant as well as a shop, training facilities and most of all a lovely setting for a game of golf.
