Wimbledon Park is a large green area of land close to the All England Lawn Tennis Club. The focus of the park is on recreation and sport, it having been designed as a place for local townspeople to exercise in the fresh air and amongst nature. The park has a variety of sporting facilities available to the public including a yachting lake, floodlit tennis courts, football pitches, an athletic track, a small stadium and a running track. The park is also used for people to walk, cyle and simply relax on a sunny day.
