York Gardens is a large recreational area and park just off the busy thoroughfare York Road which leads out of Battersea and towards Wandsworth. The park has been for centuries a place of sanctuary for the townspeople to relax and get away from the busy streets and traffic that are typical of much of Battersea. The area has a playground and facilities for people to play sports as well as take a break, relax and watch the world go by.
